Homework due Monday, October 24th In class on Tuesday, we developed a theme statement for Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby which built upon the book's central tension between wealth and expectations. We decided that one of the book's themes is that the reckless pursuit of material and false expectations can have destructive and even tragic consequences.Homework is not graded for accuracy. We will go over our homework assignment in class, together. Each student is responsible for checking and correcting his or her own work. Homework should never be a source of frustration. It should be all about practice!
