In spellings this year we will be learning and revising words from the statutory Year 3 and 4 word list, as well as words that we use most in our writing along with some new tricky words. Later in the term, the children who get full marks in their spelling tests will have the chance to take part in our Year 3 Spelling Bee competition.

Coten End Primary School. Across the school, we will be using Spelling Shed to help the children learn their spellings. Year 4 will be setting spelling homework on Spelling Shed, where the children will practise the spellings through different activities and games (a bit like Mathletics!).

Weekly Homework. This term the children will need to complete Mental Arithmetic (MA) and English homework each week, in addition to the normal reading and spelling practice. English will normally comprise a comprehension sheet or grammar work based on what we have been studying in class.
